Physiological Rights: A Justiciable Rights-Based Approach to Health
This site is dedicated to the recognition and defence of physiological rights — a fundamental category of human rights not yet named in existing legal frameworks, designed to complement and extend recognised rights, particularly the right to health and the right to food.
Physiological rights recognise that human integrity is not limited to the absence of visible physical injury. It encompasses the complex balance of internal systems that enable the optimal functioning of the human organism. Every person has the right to the maintenance, protection, and active restoration of their normal physiological parameters and essential biological functions.
Through this site, we examine the many situations — both within and outside healthcare systems — where these rights are suppressed, violated, or ignored. We establish core definitions, critique prevailing nutritional concepts, present concrete case reports, and offer editorial positions for broader recognition of these essential rights.
